Three ways to taking out a finer oral impression

Obtaining a fine oral impression is of great significance in dental cosmetic restoration. So how to take a finer oral impression in clinical practice?

1.Selection of impression tray

The tray used to take the impression must have a certain degree of rigidity, otherwise, when the high-viscosity impression material is used, the tray will be easily deformed. Choosing the right tray is the first and important step.

2.Method

1) Single-step method

Choose a suitable tray and apply a special adhesive. After it is cured, injecting the silica gel evenly from the non-working end to the working end in one direction of the tray,which avoids air bubbles.

2) Two-layer one-time modulus method

This method is being used by more and more people in clinical practice, especially when the production of restorations requires high precision for impressions, such as inlays and veneers.

Apply a layer of special adhesive on the tray; and let it dry; the assistant puts the mixed primary silicone rubber into the tray; presses out the basic shape of the dental arch on the tray and injects the secondary silicone rubber into the tray. On the first impression material, remove the retraction cord; rinse with a spray gun and blow dry; inject secondary silica gel around the preparation, place the impression tray in the mouth, apply a little pressure to make the injected material overflow and keep the impression in place The position in the mouth is fixed and no pressure is applied to ensure that the material is completely cured.

3) Two-layer secondary modulus method

First,apply a layer of special adhesive on the tray; and let it dry; Second,put the mixed initial silicone rubber into the tray; press out the basic shape of the dental arch on the tray, and then remove the gum line; rinse with a spray gun, plow dry, put the tray with the first impression into the mouth to get the first impression. After taking it out, rinse the impression under running water; then trim the edges, remove the gaps and undercuts, trim and carve out the overflow grooves to the edge of the preparation, rinse the teeth, and blow dry; inject secondary silicone rubber around the preparation; rinse , Spread a thin layer of secondary silicone rubber on the first impression after drying; Finally,put the tray in the mouth, and slightly apply pressure to make the material overflow; keep the position of the impression in the mouth fixed, no longer apply any pressure to ensure that the material is completely cured.
